Steph Curry's Secret to a Faster Jump-Shot

Steph Curry’s Secret to a Faster Jump-Shot

The Steph Curry’s  secret  quick release jump-shot is actually pretty simple – he simply keeps his wrist cocked back as he dribbles the ball. This allows him to shoot the ball without wasting any time, and since his shot gets off in just 0.5 seconds after catching the ball, it’s nearly impossible to block. You can try this method out yourself by just keeping your wrist cocked back as you go up for your shots, but be sure not to overdo it! You don’t want to hurt your wrist by doing this over and over again.

What You Need To Master First Before Speeding Up!

What you need to master first before speeding up is the fundamentals of shooting the basketball. Having a quick release and speed isn’t enough without the basics. You should be able to shoot off the dribble (and you must master pulling up and shooting when driving or taking it full speed at the rim). If you can’t do that, you will rarely get an open look or shot opportunity. Without these basics mastered, getting faster won’t make much of a difference. So, start with your fundamentals and then add on extra things later if needed.

How To Quickly Release the Ball in Basketball

The way you release your shot is all about your shot pocket. If you don’t have a good pocket, quick shots will be painful to shoot. A good shooter understands that a fast shot is all catered to your shot pocket. Steph Curry has said in interviews that he didn’t even practice shooting his fast ball until he knew what was important and how to develop it! Learning how to quick release a basketball is all about creating a great release and having control over it. In order for something to be quick, it needs to be smooth and effortless. You can train yourself to have great form and technique by practicing with cones or using a timer. The key is just as quickly putting your hands back up into position when it goes off so that you’re not slowing down!

How To Shoot the Ball Faster in Basketball

According to Steph, the wrist strengthen and how well your wrist flicks the ball allows a faster release. The better your wrist flick, the faster you can shoot the ball. If you have a slow release in basketball, it means that more time and energy is spent on releasing the ball which leads to a loss of control and power over shooting. For a proper release, athletes should focus on developing speed through their wrists as they flick outwards while at the same time extending their arm backwards as they cock back into shooting position. This not only helps you shoot faster but also builds up your muscle memory so that you will be able to do it unconsciously during gameplay. Remember though that all of these drills must be accompanied by lots of repetition!

Why Stephen Curry is The Best Shooter in Basketball History

You’ve probably watched Steph Curry shoot before and thought that he was not like other shooters. Well, you were right. Stephen curry has mastered his form and spent hours analyzing his weaknesses when shooting basketballs. It all started with an obsessive dad but now it’s embedded in his habits and daily routine. Here is what he says about it It’s pretty funny, I have my own little ritual that I do every single day of shooting, Curry said. I always go through it before every game; if I don’t go through it then something feels off. And here are some of those steps: He dribbles twice as fast as normal while moving around in a small circle, then slows down and makes 15 shots from five spots on the floor — three from each side of center court and two from each wing. The whole process takes less than 10 minutes.

Curry Had A Shooting Coach!

Having a shooting coach or partner to help analyze your shooting ability is an absolute must. A good coach will help point out your weaknesses and make sure you’re improving your shot. Like in any sport, it’s important to have someone watching your form and helping you improve—in basketball that’s no different, but with a jump shot it’s not as easy to see yourself if you’re just practicing by yourself. Steph Curry has become one of if not THE best shooter in all of basketball thanks to his shooting coach making sure he didn’t settle for bad shots, or even worse: no shots at all! If you’re serious about wanting to get better as a shooter or any other skill needed for basketball try finding a good partner or coach to help!
