Fastest Way To Improve Your Shooting Accuracy in 24 hours

When it comes to improving your shooting accuracy, there are plenty of different tips and tricks out there that all promise great results without hard work or long practice sessions. Some people swear by shooting workouts, while others say you can improve with shooting drills. The truth? It takes all three, along with some other crucial factors, in order to boost your accuracy in just 24 hours. Here’s how to do it!

Improve Your Shooting Accuracy in 24 hours

Shooting accuracy starts with breathing control

Getting your breathing under control will give you more energy to shoot the basketball. Shooting drills that force you to be aware of your breathing and correct it will help you prepare for those moments when a defender is hounding you. These shooting workouts can also improve your shooting accuracy from different spots on the court, as well as teach you how to get the most out of your shooting sessions in the gym. These drills are sure to build up your confidence as a shooter and increase that all-important muscle memory. If that sounds good, then keep reading!

Work on the fundamentals

Stick to the fundamentals of shooting, we don’t want to be TikTok stars. You know the drill; practice shooting under game-like conditions and in game-like situations as much as possible. Take every opportunity you can to move with a defender draped all over you, under duress, etc. Remember that we want to start here because we want to be able to consistently execute our fundamentals before we build on top of them with more advanced shooting drills and workouts. We might not have as much fun in the moment but making a lot of repetitive jump shots is an important stepping stone towards becoming an elite shooter.

Stay active during practices

The key to improving your shooting accuracy is to put in work during practice and be active and present. In order to get better at anything, you need focus and concentration on what you are doing while practicing. You want to make sure that you pay attention during practice and that you’re not spacing out. If a coach gives you great shooting tips, try to write them down so that you can utilize them in your game later on. Not only will they help with improving your shooting accuracy, but they will also be incredibly helpful when it comes time for drills or scrimmages!

Perform dynamic shooting drills

Sure, working on your shooting skills is the easy part. The hard part is making sure that you are getting good repetition in practice. In game situations are chaotic and unpredictable; therefore, the best way to train for game situations is with game-like drills that incorporate movement and mimics in-game experiences. The quickest way to improve your shooting accuracy is by performing dynamic shooting drills during practice. Dynamic shooting drills that involve live action, such as moving dribbling, will help you build muscle memory so that when you take the court for a real game all of those shots will be second nature. Train your eyes

Shooting often seems to be about the basketball, but it’s not. It’s about trusting the ball and your natural shooting form and not focusing on anything else when you shoot. In other words, get rid of everything from your mind except for the rim. It is just as much a mental game as it is a physical one, and that starts with training your eyes to focus on the rim only when you shoot the ball. If you are trying to improve your shooting accuracy, then don’t think about shooting while working out or during any drills or workouts; watch the rim while practicing, taking shots and playing games. As soon as you begin thinking about something other than letting it fly, you’re instantly distracted from what truly matters: Making every shot count.

Practice makes perfect

While it’s often said that practice makes perfect, that philosophy doesn’t quite apply to basketball. For example, the key to good shooting is consistency, but the key to consistency is practice. That means you need to always be shooting the ball to develop consistency on the court. Just dribbling around on your fingertips with no ball won’t really help much. Keep track of how many shots you made and missed during games, then try to shoot a higher percentage than you did the previous game or practice session. Make sure every shot counts; don’t get lazy with layups!
