5 tips on how Lebron James improved his shooting

If you’re a basketball fan, you know that Lebron James has had a lot of off-the-court struggles recently, but on the court, he remains one of the best players in the NBA. What do you think made him so good? While there are many factors that contribute to Lebron’s success, one thing that’s clear from watching him play: his shooting accuracy has improved dramatically over the years and he’s now considered one of the best shooters in the game.

5 tips on how Lebron James improved his shooting

1) Understand where you are now

In 2010, when he came up against Golden State was an average shooter. Now, he’s up to 43 percent from three-point range and has nearly doubled his free throw percentage. The young Cavs point guard is well-known for his long-range shooting, but it wasn’t always that way. During a recent appearance on SI Now , Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James talked about some of what helped him improve as a shooter over time, including focusing more on defense in practice. I think I’ve always had confidence in my shot, he said.

2) Improve your mechanics

Shooting consistency is the byproduct of good shooting habits. If you’re struggling to shoot the ball at a high percentage, look at your form and technique from the ground up. Try breaking down every element of your shot into smaller tasks (e.g., hold the ball closer to your body when you’re practicing layups, or extend your arms fully when shooting jumpers) and focus on these skills separately. Remember: Every aspect of an athlete’s shooting mechanics impacts their performance. Once you identify what needs work, start implementing drills into your daily routine that isolate different elements of the game so that they become second nature to you during games—at game speed!

3) Practice as often as possible

Whether you’re working out every day or playing in the playoffs, shooting consistency is one of the most important factors in having a successful basketball career. It’s also easily overlooked. Most players are in the gym working on individual skills, but their improvement is dependent upon honing the skill of consistency. Shooting practice must be specific to get better and improve your game – whether it’s free throws, threes, dunks or step backs. But even more important than practicing your shooting drills, is practicing the habits that will make you more consistent when taking your shots in games. As long as you can improve those habits, there are no limits to how good you can become as a shooter!

4) Treat practice like a game

Practice is important, but it should never be the same as game play. Instead, treat practice like a game by keeping it intense and fun. There’s no time limit to practice. Work harder than you ever would during a game. This will help you improve your shooting consistency and shooting improvement. Skimping on practice means you won’t play at your best when the lights come on, so make sure you’re putting in the hard work when no one else is watching!

5) Focus on the little things

From the moment he began playing basketball at the age of nine, shooting has been a big part of LeBron James’s game. But, before you start asking questions like Is it all about the genes? or Did the King inherit Michael Jordan’s shooting ability?—there is another side to the story. It all starts with understanding that every minor detail matters overtime in the development of your game. The details are what separate average players from great ones. For example, take a look at an ordinary guy who decided to try and make himself into an NBA shooting machine. He put together videos and studied Kobe Bryant’s shot mechanics, paying close attention to Bryant’s footwork and release point. He also worked on improving his own ball-handling skills so he could get more open looks off screens and pick-and-roll plays. Then there was work ethic; His daily routine included shooting 500 jump shots per day while wearing wrist weights during practice sessions so as not to tire out during games.<This part should talk about – Your daily routine should include…: You can apply these same principles in order to improve your own shooting ability.
